This 16-point, 45 degree Mariner's Compass quilt is constructed by strip piecing with rulers (no paper piecing!). From Robin Ruth Designs, this pattern  has piecing instructions for the Compass Sunflower block n the center of the pocket watch using Robin's rulers Skinny Robin 16-point Ruler and Angle Ruler. Check out the YouTube tutorial here!
